8 Months

So... this little munchkin has been around for 8 months. I swear these past two weeks she looks less "baby" to me. Her last cranky phase seems to have passed and we once again have the happiest baby in the world. Seriously, she smiles at just about anything we say these days, which really helps make this mom feel pretty darn cool. This past month has been full of new firsts and fun memories. Yeah I know I say that every month, but it is just as true now as it has been my previous monthly updates.

So whats new:
  • Biggest news of this past month - we crawled for the first time! Proud Mommy & Daddy moment for sure. She doesn't do it all the time and still prefers to have us help her walk around the house, but she'll get after a toy if it isn't too far away.
  • Probably the next biggest milestone was walking solo with her walker. She actually did that before she crawled! Raegan was really been living on the edge these past few weeks.
  • Another big first - we grew our first tooth the bottom right popped through a week or so ago.
  • Raegan's favorite pastime is still holding balls in both of her hands and banging them together. Actually banging anything together is pretty much a guaranteed good time these days. Balls are just super easy for her to hold onto.
  • Oh my gosh I almost forgot, this one got me just as excited as the crawling one, she now can sit-up on her own from a laying position. I still remember the afternoon I went to get her out of her crib from a nap and found her crying, arms flailing and sitting up.
  • Peeking around corners is also a favorite game and pretty much a guaranteed huge smile
  • High fives and waving are almost masters. Some days the royalty wave even comes out.
  • We started daycare and it seems like she is slowly feeling more comfortable there. We have also noticed she plays a lot more contently by herself which I think is partly due to daycare.
  • Raegan learned how to drink out of straw sippy in basically 1 minute. We have a smarty pants on our hands
  • Lots of new foods this past month - yogurt, peaches, blueberries, corn, pears, apples, tomatoes, chicken and puffs
  • Still size 2 diapers. Every time we buy a box of size 2 we think it will be the last one. That was 4 boxes ago!
  • Still mostly wearing size 6 month clothes, although some shirts are being worn as tunics with leggings that are 9 month.
Happy 8 Months Sweet Baby Girl. You sure do bring so much joy into our lives!
