Brookfield Zoo

Cross off another "Thing to do This Summer" off the list!

After Eric and I got back from Cabo the other week, I took the rest of the week off to hang with my family. It was seriously the best decision I could have made, it was almost like two vacations in one! On Thursday we headed to Brookfield Zoo and thanks to Eric's parents we only needed to pay for parking! Cheapest zoo trip ever since we also packed our own lunches. We got there right when they opened and for the first hour or so the animals were pretty active. Of course Raegan really only cared about the animals that were most active which ended up being the fish and dolphins. We really could have gone to a pet store and she wouldn't have known the difference, but Eric and I had fun. Besides the zoo is probably one of my most favorite places to go.

The highlight of Raegan's day... the hour or so lunch break we ended up taking in some shade. She was really embracing her new found freedom of sitting up on her own and loving the wind in her hair! And she decided she didn't need us to help her eat.

This girl is definitely my kid, while the animals were fun and all to see, she really preferred to people watch and stare at them for a really inappropriate amount of time. At least she can get away with it without looking creepy, I need to start taking pointers from her!

We left by 1:30 and it was just the perfect amount of time to spend there with a 5 month old. It was days like that where I wished I was a teacher too so both Eric and I could have the entire summer off with her. I get beyond jealous during the week knowing these two are hanging out all day long. But what a lucky girl Raegan is to have such a good daddy! Eric may be fun, but Mom sure does know how to cuddle.
