Every December Eric gets two weeks off of work, I get 3 days. It's not cool. The kid's school is closed for most of those two weeks too. Therefore the past few years I had left my house in the freezing cold Chicago winter weather at 6 am to make my trek to work while my loves were home, warm and together. It wasn't fun. Enter this past year. I saved my vacation days, took off from December 24th until January 5th and got to hang out with the cool kids at home, as a family, with no rushed agenda. We stayed in our jammies till 10, we watched the Full House Christmas episode at least 20 times per a little girls request, we watched our baby learn to crawl and we didn't set any alarms. It was magic, it was needed and it needs to happen again soon. Oh how I will always treasure the way we said good bye to 2014 and hello to 2015. These people of mine, they fill me up!
