Working from home today and looking around the house. Looking at a family room with a baby swing in place of an end table, at a media center with cubby holes for toys upon toys to be stored. Looking at my living room which we so appropriately call the play room. No fancy furniture there, in it's place a t-pee tent, a play kitchen and plastic shopping carts and a ride-on airplane.
Our house may not be ready for a magazine photo shoot but you know what, all this plastic crap that sits as a placeholder for all that fancy furniture to come means there are still firsts happening here. First steps, first friends, first words, first big girl beds.
I'll take this mess over the alternative any day.
