Eric and I first went to Kuipers to go apple picking two years ago. Neither one of us ever really went apple picking as kids, but the idea seemed like a ton of fun. It has now become our own little tradition. There are many little traditions each of us has brought into our marriage from what we did as kids. But this one is ours, we started it as a couple. It's like our thing. We talk about it all year long (no joke!). This was our third year going. Our friends Russ and Erica (along with their one year old Ryne) joined us this year. We didn't get any pictures with them (shame on me), but we had a great Sunday afternoon with them eating apples fresh off the tree.
We cannot wait to start bringing baby girl here next year. I have such great memories as a kid going to Chicago just right after Thanksgiving and walking down State Street looking at the Macy windows and eating Garrett's popcorn with my mom and dad and our neighbors. I hope one day we can make those same type of memories with our daughter.
